Alchemy
Jeanneau Symphonie 'ALCHEMY'

I brought Alchemy in December 2007 from a gentleman that had owned her for 25 years and had moved to Canada, she had bad U/V damage (deck and hull) all over and took a lot of work to sand/cut and polish out but she has come up like new, the refurbishment photos were taken over the last 2 months, lot of work but worth it....originally called 'TRUFFEL ' from Southampton now re-named ' ALCHEMY ', I have also fitted a rigid vang and lazy jacks and a boom stacker and new main. I am now fitting new electronics wind/speed/plotter/running rigging and then heating and new spray hood and maybe a teak laid deck! I must say I am smitten with her.

It is noteworthy that on further inspection after removing the upholstery and headlining for cleaning all bulkheads and compartments are fixed to the hull properly with glass not just bonded with glue as on many new yachts today. Also its a real treat to find a yacht that at 28 years old has all the original interior and its all in such good condition, a tribute to the quality of the materials and craftsmanship used by Jeanneau.

Next winter I am going to alter the chart table and quarter berth to allow for a rear double berth and probably do a re-engine to up the power to 30hp. I do have the advantage of having a Father that is a retired yacht designer and builder (the last yacht that he built was a ground up build wooden traditional 'Virtue' that boat has travelled the world over the last 15 years) so I think the aft cabin conversion is in safe hands.
