SO34.2 Forecabin
Improvements to the forecabin berth
Note only to be used when two men are in the cabin.
Although the berth is long adults still tend to play footsie. I made a new port locker cover with a folding flap and an extra cushion to let the port man sleep further aft. Now no footsie!
The lid is screwed in using plastic fixing blocks from kitchen units. A new retaining catch from Toomer & Haytor was fitted for the door catch to allow for the folded section thickness. When in place the cabin door stills opens enough to allow escape from the cabin.
The teak panels on the self with the dangling cords are the teak two piece wash boards that I made to comply with the British commercial coding. Wash boards must allow the hatch to be opened whilst in place and must be restrained.
Hope you like it.
Best regards
